JR Yamanote Line

(Japanese)

Tokyo - Yurakucho - Shinbashi

I entered from the Tokyo station Marunouchi entrance made with profound red bricks, and came out to the Yaesu exit..I walked to Yurakucho via Ginza.I passed the Hibiya movie theaters area from Yurakucho, and I walked to Shinbashi, looking at restaurants famous for the low price below the girders of JR.

Shinbashi - Tamachi - Shinagawa

I could not walk along Siodome to Hamamatsucho because of construction of redevelopment, and Hamamatsucho up to Tamachi because of the Furukawa River, but walked along the 1st Keihin National Highway.I walked to Shinagawa, looking at the monument of the historical spot where Kaishu Katsu negotiated with Takamori Saigo about the bloodless surrender of the Edo castle

Shinagawa - Osaki - Meguro

I walked through the Shinagawa posting station on old Tokaido Highway from the Kita Shinagawa station of the Keihin express to the Yamate avenue.I passed Tokai Zen Temple famous for Takuwan bonze, and Osaki which finished redevelopment, and walked to Gotanda. I walked along the Hanabusayama Street along Yamanote Line to Meguro.

Meguro - Ebisu - Shibuya

The new shopping and business area called Ebisu Garden Place was built on the former site of the Sapporo Breweries Ebisu factory which was making the Ebisu Beer which is the origin of the Ebisu station. Although popularity has decreased. 16 million or more customers visit this place per year.

Shibuya - Harajuku - Shinjuku

It was full of young men and women in Kouen Street and Takeshita Street. From Shibuya I walked to the Togo Jinja Shrine honoring Heihachiro Togo Marshal. The Togo Jinja Shrine is near Takeshita Street, and the headquarters of the Japan Communist Party is near Takashimaya Times Square. The mismatch of a modern object and a historical one is interesting.

Shinjuku - Takadanobaba - Ikebukuro

It has been a long tine since I walked from Shinjuku to Shin-Okubo through Kabuki-cho last time when I was a student at Waseda University graduate school .The love hotel street became clean and Korean townisation from Shokuan avenue(the employment service agency avenue) to Shin-Okubo was progressing much more. On the other hand, the Japanese style love hotel street from Shin-Okubo to Takadanobaba is swept, and there is no old-time image.

Ikebukuro - Sugamo - Uguisudani

I visited from Ikebukuro to Uguisudani for the first time except Sugamo, Komagome, and Nishinippori where I took the photograph of subways. There are few places along which you can walk to along the railway in Yamanote Line. When I walked along the narrow road which did not run along the railway from the Otsuka station, I came out in front of the Sugamo-Jizou.

The Ueno Kaneiji Temple - The Ueno Park

I went to the Kaneiji Temple which adjoins the Yanaka cemetery from the Uguisudani station.Unlike ordinary temples, the Kaneiji Temple is full of entry prohibition. The spots where I was seen were few. When I went to the Ueno station via Ueno Park, I found the cemetery of the Shougi-tai before the Saigo statue.

Ueno - Akihabara - Tokyo

Since I walked along this section repeatedly, I thought that there was especially no novel thing. However, the leading large-sized store in Akihabara of PC sale beside Mansei-bashi was closed, and I was surprised that it had changed to the pachinko parlor. And the name of a pachinko parlor is BigApple.I thought whether it became PC store of another series for a moment.
