Tokyo Metro(old Eidan) Marunouchi Line
(Japanese)

Ogikubo- Higashi Kouenji - Shinjuku

I came out of the Ogikubo station and walked along the Oume Highway intently. Since Marunouchi Line was opened for traffic in the 1960s following Ginza Line opened for traffic before the Second World War, there were some places where the displays of stations were hard to see.The skyscrapers are the highlight although the Nishi Shinjuku station is located on the north side in Shinjuku as a subcenter of Tokyo.

Shinjuku- Shinjuku 3chome - Yotsuya

Shinjuku - Shinjuku 3chome are longtime shopping quarter, and the prosperity does not change with my high school days for about 40 years. However, since the street is narrow, the development beyond this may be difficult. Because I got used to Shinjuku for nine years with the high school, the university, and the graduate school, I also have much recollections. When the opposition movement against Japan-US Security Treaty ended in 1970, the Oiwake police box was exploded. I want you to see the comment of a photograph.

Yotsuya - Akasakamitsuke - Kasumigaseki

If you walk along a downward slope along a moat from Yotsuya to Akasakamitsuke, a scene will also be changed completely from the quiet Imperial Family's residential area to upper-layers hotels. Marunouchi Line progresses from a Hie Sannou-sha shrine to the Kasumigaseki station through the same course as Chiyoda Line.

Kasumigaseki - Ginza - Tokyo station

Marunouchi Line runs the center in Hibiya Park, after coming out of the Kasumigaseki station, it passes along the narrow way (Miyuki street) between the Imperial Hotel and the Takarazuka theater, and comes out of it to Sotobori avenue. Sukiyabashi bridge famous for "Kimi no na ha?",which was famous drama about 50 years ago,is passed, and it turns left before the Tokyo International Forum, and progresses to the Marunouchi entrance of the Tokyo station.
The Tokyo station - Ochanomizu - Kourakuen
Marunouchi Line progresses under the way in front of the Tokyo station toward the Shohei bridge, and turns left through Awaji-cho on the Shohei bridge of the end of the Akihabara electricity town. Yushima Confucian Shrine is near at hand and rare photographs, such as the Confucius statue, were also able to be taken. Marunouchi Line progresses to Kasuga avenue through Hongou avenue from Sotobori avenue. The remaining distance is slight from the Korakuen station to Ikebukuro station, terminal for Marunouchi Line.

Kourakuen - Myougadani - Ikebukuro

When Kourakuen is passed, the buildings of the department of science and engineering of Chuo University rises up on Tomisaka slope. A Kasuga-no-tsubone statue is there and it is written that Kasuga-cho originates in her name. When Tomisaka slope is gone up, there is Dentsuuin temple. In the family temple of Odai-no-kata who is Ieyasu Tokugawa's mother, Hideyori Toyotomi's wife Sen-hime and others are buried. You pass over the Ochanomizu women's university and Sun Shine, and you arrive at Ikebukuro Station, Terminal for Marunouchi Line .
